Introduction to grunge music of the 90’s
Perhaps the most popular rock music of the 90’s was undoubtedly the grunge music which was founded by Kurt Cobain with his band Nirvana. Rationally speaking grunge can be considered as a well mixed blend of heavy metal and punk. It was originally founded and confined to Seattle but gradually it became popular in the rest of the world as well. Lyrics used were often emotional and raw and hence it was named grunge. Although the grunge tradition had existed invisibly in the past, it was in fact nirvana that popularized it owing to their melodious music. However, this band was destined to be short lived and grunge lovers were left shocked after the untimely demise of Kurt Cobain bars in 1994. Although the rest of the band members did remain actively involved in music, afterwards, but failed to created the uniqueness and freshness of music that they had once created with Nirvana.
